The Liquid Cylinder (brand names Microcyl/Dura) is a portable tank that is designed to carry
cryogenic liquids which are at a temperature close to -200 ◦ C; it has a built-in vaporizer that
converts the liquid into a gaseous form for you to use. However, if your application is that
which needs the product in the very cold form (like Liquid Nitrogen), there is a provision to
withdraw the liquid as well. So yes and no because the end product can be liquid or gas
depending on your requirement.
All our Liquid Cylinders are made of stainless steel. The gas to be used gets slowly converted
from liquid form to gaseous form while the container is in use at site. As a result, our clients
get better purity from a gas that is directly derived from its liquid state. By avoiding the gas
transfer into a conventional gas cylinder you avoid contamination of gaseous impurities that
could be in a cylinder. (Conventional gas cylinders are generally made up of carbon steel
which has a tendency to get rusted or contaminated on the inner surface.
All that a Microcyl needs is a 1x1 square meter floor space and its average height is about 7
feet. A well-ventilated room or a small area outside your facility is enough to set up a
Microcyl.
A Microcyl is a Liquid Cylinder designed to carry cryogenic liquids witha very high level of insulation; think of it like a thermos flask. If you require chilled water to be served chilled after a few hours then the thermos can keep it cold for you; however it cannot remain cold indefinitely. Over time the cryogenic liquid in the Microcyl turns to gas and increases the pressure inside the vessel. This pressure is then lowered by releasing gas through the Microcyl’s Safety relief valve. If left unused, eventually the Microcyl will keep releasing gas and empty out over a period of time.
A Microcyl is designed to release the gas through it’s safety relief valves, if the gas being generated out of the Liquid is not taken into use. If left unused it will empty out over a period of time by auto relieving, as a very essential safety measure.
However, if it is being used on a regular basis then one Microcyl contains oxygen equivalent to about 30 Jumbo cylinders and can be used with minimal wastage comfortably over months’ time.
Our logistics team is well-equipped with a daily schedule where they pick up the empty Microcyls/cylinders from your premises and replace them with filled Microcyls/cylinders. Our personnel proactively place a daily call to you or any contact defined by you to check on the status of the gas and schedule a delivery/pickup accordingly.
Microcyls are specialized insulated Liquid cylinders that are designed for cryogenic liquids. PESO authority of India requires that such liquids and any gases thereof are required to be filled in area defined under the SMPV and Gas Cylinder rules. Such an area is a safe demarcated space with adequate measures to handle any untoward circumstances that may arise during filling of cryogenic liquids. Our factory at Bhiwandi has a PESO-licensed SMPV and Gas Cylinders filling and storage area. It is highly unsafe and illegal to fill Microcyls at a premises without a PESO-licensed SMPV area.
No! On the contrary a Microcyl has an average pressure of 10-18 kgs/cm2 which is almost 1/10th the pressure of a Jumbo cylinder that is usually filled at about 140 to 150 kgs/cm2. The Microcyl uses insulation and vacuum to enable gas to be stored in its liquid form therefore it does not need to be pressurized to accommodate the large quantity of gas. This is a state-of-the-art technique of the new millennia and GiNa Gas Concepts is proud to say that we were the pioneers in educating the market about this innovation.
Yes, of course we will! Just like we do for clients that use our Microcyls and Cylinders, once you partner with us as your Gas suppliers you will be a part of our daily roster where we will call you to schedule your pickup for filling as and when you require it.
Gases are a commodity where the cost of the vessel is more than 10 times the cost of the gas. Let us elaborate an example: We consume mineral water in plastic bottles where the cost of the bottle is hardly significant and gets easily covered in the fairly affordable cost price of about Rs.20; on the other hand if we think about a bottle of perfume, in this case the cost of the product itself is so high that the cost for the designer glass bottle that it is packaged in is easily covered and a buyer does not even think about the cost of the designer glass bottle. In the case of gases it is akin to selling water in specialized designer bottles; hence it is very important for us to maintain, reuse and keep track of our precious cylinders. Therefore all cylinders require a returnable safety deposit.
We have been educating the market about Microcyls for almost a decade now and we have a dedicated installation team that will help you set up everything you need to get your gas up and running. We also conduct a training for all our clients about general safety and SOPs that need to be taken care of with regards to Microcyls or similar Liquid Tanks.
Nothing in life comes with a 100% safety guarantee and we do not believe in misleading our clients simply for business but we can tell you these facts: Microcyls have an average pressurethat is less that 1/10th of Jumbo cylinders; Microcyls have built-in safety mechanismsthat comprise of 2 safety relief valves that auto release the gas when pressure exceeds set threshold, as well as 1 manual pressure release valve that can be opened; All our Microcyls are handled by trained professionals and are transported in trucks equipped with tail-lifts to ensure smooth handling; All our Microcyls are segregated according to the product they carry and we do not intermix our products.
